Definition of Energy

ENERGY   (english)
Energy is the ability to do work
 Inventor is james prescott joule of energy.Joule was born disalford, English. he studied the effect of heating using electricity and realize that heat is a form of energy. His name is subsequently used as the unit of measurement of energy . Energy units in International Units ( SI ) is the joule ( J ) .The law of conservation of energy states :• Energy can not be created and can not be destroyed .• The amount of energy is always constant , energy can be transformed from one form of energy into      other energy .Energy Unit others are Calories ( Cal ) .1000 Joule = 1 KJ1 Joule = 0.001 KJ1 Joule = 0.24 Kal1 Kal = 4.2 JoulesForms of Energy in Everyday Life .a. Electrical energy       d . Light energyb . Chemical energy      e . The sound energyc . Nuclear energy         f . Heat energy

Changes in the shape of a form of energy called the energy conversion to forms other .Kinetic EnergyKinetic energy is energy that has a thing because of its motion . Each object is moving or has a definite velocity has kinetic energy .

Ek = ½ mv2

Description :

Ek = kinetic energy ( Joules )

m = mass of object ( kg )

v = speed of the object ( m / s )

Potential EnergyPotential energy is the energy possessed by an object due to the altitude . Each object that is at a certain height has potential energy .Example : spring , rubber stretched , the object at a certain height .

The potential energy is divided into two kinds:

  • Gravitational potential energy is gravitational potential energy arises due to the pull force of gravity acting on the body .
  • Elastic potential energy is the energy stored in the elastic body due to compressive force and tensile force acting on the body .
Ep = m . g . h

Description :

Ep = potential energy ( Joules )

m = mass of object ( kg )

g = acceleration of gravity ( ms - 2 )

h = height ( m )

Mechanical Energy

Mechanical energy is the energy contained in the object that has kinetic energy and potential energy .Em = Ep          +        Ek

       = m . g . h + 1/2 m . v2

Description : Em  =
  Mechanical energy

Ek  =  kinetic energy

Ep =  potential energyThe law of conservation of energy says that energy can not be created or destroyed , but energy can be converted from one form to another . The law of conservation of energy also applies to mechanical energy , namely : " the mechanical energy of an object is fixed as long as no outside force that was done on the object "
