Atomic theory of J. J. ThomsonBased on the discovery of a better cathode tubes by William Crookers , then JJ Thomson
researching more about cathode rays and it is certain that the cathode
rays are particles , because they can rotate the propeller is placed
between the cathode and anode . From the results of this experiment , Thomson stated that cathode rays
are subatomic particles ( subatomic particles ) and the negatively
charged electron hereinafter .Atoms
are neutral particles , because electrons are negatively charged , then
there must be another positively charged particles to menetrallkan
negative charge of the electron . From
these discoveries , Thomson rectify the shortcomings of Dalton 's
atomic theory and atomic theory put forward known as Thomson Atomic
Theory . Which states that :" Atom is a solid ball is positively charged and negatively charged electrons scattered therein "The atomic model can be described as guava skin that has been exfoliated . guava
seeds are dispersed uniformly describe electrons in the solid pink meat
balls , which is analogous to the Thomson model of the atom as a
positive ball solid . Thomson model of the atom can be described as follows :
thomson atomic
weaknesses :The weakness of the Thomson atomic model can not explain the arrangement of positive and negative charges within the atomic sphere .
